Moore (Ripley), Isabel Iona -
Age 94, of Pugwash and formerly of East Leicester, passed away on
September 25, 2014 at the East Cumberland Lodge. She was
surrounded by her loving family. Isabel was the oldest of
nine children, born December 10, 1919, a daughter of the
late Carrie and Archie Ripley of Fenwick, NS
A graduate of Normal College, Truro, she taught school in
Mansfield, NS where she met Sheldon and enjoyed 73 years of marriage.
In her younger years, Mom loved nothing more
than having a beautiful garden. This was continued by her
son Keith. Family were a very important part of her
life. Being a teacher, the importance of education was a
value passed on to her family.
She
will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Sheldon Moore; children,
Bruce (Madelyn) Moore, Marven (Ruth) Moore, Howard Moore, Lee (Elsie)
Moore, Ann (Alan) McKay, Wayne Moore, Gwenda (Eugene) Mattinson, Betty
(Stephen) Mattson, Ruth (Charles) Stock, Neil (Donna) Moore, Marney
(Leigh) Gilroy, Keith Moore, Teresa (Chris) McLaughlin, Thornton (Kim)
Moore, Beverley (Jim) Corbin, and Andrew (Lisa) Moore; as well as 29
grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is also
survived by two sisters, Evalena Graves and Rachael MacEachern.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her
eldest daughter, Ellen Clarke; three brothers, Robert, Vaughan and
Glen and three sisters, Doris, Marion and Fern; two great grandsons; a
daughter-in-law and a son-in-law.
Many thanks are extended to Dr. Forshner and the staff of the
East Cumberland Lodge for their excellent care and support.
Also thanks to special angel, Mick Huey and the home care staff who
visited and others who sent cards throughout the years.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford,
(902-447-2167) from where visitation will be held on Monday, September
29, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held
from Trinity United Church, Oxford on Tuesday at 2 pm.
Burial to follow in the Mansfield Cemetery. Rev. Gary
MacDougall officiating.
At the request of the
family, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the East
Cumberland Lodge or the Mansfield Cemetery.
