The death of David Darryl Halliday of Williamsdale, occurred
suddenly at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Wednesday,
April 16, 2014, the day after his 55th birthday. Born in
Springhill, Darryl was a son of Beverley (nee Purdy) and the late
David Halliday.
Darryl drove the school bus for
many years, in addition to working as a caregiver at Cumberland
Community Homes. In his youth, he was a volunteer fire
fighter for the Collingwood Volunteer Fire Department. He was known to
most as "Big D" or "Uncle D"
He will be sadly missed by his mother, Beverley Halliday,
Williamsdale; two sisters, Milda Gray, Parksville, BC and Angie
(Russell) Meisner, Amherst; a brother Troy (Pattie), Williamsdale;
four nieces and five nephews.
Darryl was
predeceased by his father his brother Terry.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of W. Allen
Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford, (902-447-2167) from where
visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 12 pm until the
time of the funeral at 2 pm. Interment to follow.
