Cheryl Lynn Powell
1962-2012
We are deeply saddened to announce the death of Cheryl Lynn
Powell, 50, of Oxford, on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at the North
Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash, after a brief battle with
cancer. Born in Wawa, ON, Cheryl was a daughter of the late
Weldon and Leona Rushton.
Cheryl was an avid
music lover and devoted fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. She
was a very good leather crafter, travelling with her husband to
different shows to display and sell their crafts.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of fifteen
years, John Powell, of Oxford; one son, Corey, Moncton; three sisters,
Wendy (Gordon) Moore, Westchester, Jocelyn (Ivan) Webb, Westchester,
and Joann (Wayne) Parris, Oxford; one brother, Barry (Marsha) Rushton,
Westchester; two grandchildren, Rachel and Riley, both of Moncton;
several nieces and nephews.
Cheryl is predeceased by her parents.
Cheryl's arrangements are under the care and supervision of W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford (902-447-2167), from where visitation will be held from 7-9 on Friday, September 14, 2012. A funeral service for Cheryl will take place at 2 pm from the Westchester United Baptist Church on Saturday, September 15. Following the service, Cheryl will be laid to rest with her parents in the Eagle Hill Cemetery.
