It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Eldon Reid, age 92, of River Philip, NS.  Eldon passed away peacefully, with loving family by his side, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the East Cumberland Lodge, Pugwash.

Born in Kolbec, NS, he was a son of the late Harold and Vera (MacMaster) Reid.

As a young man, Eldon worked in the woods, later working in construction until his retirement.  He was a kind loving man.  Family was always first, but he would never let down a person in need.

Eldon will be dearly missed by sons David, Oxford, NS and Victor (Debbie) Hurley, Saint John, NB; granddaughter, Dawn Reid (Matthew France), Wentworth, NS; two step-grandchildren, Russell (Arlene), Ottawa, ON and Pattie (Troy), Williamsdale, NS; five great grandchildren, Travis, Maya, Trinity, Hailie, and Tiffany and two great great grandchildren, Merissa and CJ; daughter in law Eleanor Reid, Oxford, NS; brother Wendell (Marg) Reid and sister in law Winnie Reid, Oxford as well as many special nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Bertha, sister  Dolena (Carl) Melanson, brother Percy (Alice), Arlan (Jessie), Howard. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS, 902-447-2167, where visiting hours will be held on Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2 pm.  Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
