R. Gene Delaney, 90 years of age, of Debert Court, Debert, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Debert.  Born in Oxford  she was a daughter of the late Fred & Emma (Thompson) Carroll.

Gene was a lifetime member of the UCW, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxillary. She loved to knit and was an excellent seamstress. Gene was an excellent cook and was famous for her home made doughnuts and bread. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her husband fishing and hunting. Gene loved her grand sons and enjoyed spoiling them.

Gene will be sadly missed by her daughter, Cheryl Teed (Walter) of Debert, three grandsons, Adam (Angela) of Londonderry, NS, Matthew (Mary) of Masstown, Luke of Bible Hill; sister in law, Ruth Carroll of Kingston, ON; three special boys, Stephen, Krome, & Jason; nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George, infant daughter Heather, brothers, Bert & Ronald Carroll.

Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen Funeral Home 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167). The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Trinity United Church, Oxford,on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford. Those wishing to make a memorial in Gene's memory may do so to the Trinity United Church, Pine Grove Cemetery or charity of choice.
