It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John "Chico" Charles Powell, age 71, of Oxford. John passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, NS.

Born in Halifax, NS, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Walsh) Powell.

John was well known as a Leather Craftsmen, serving his customers all over the Maritimes. A man that loved to have fun and tease, he was a proud dad and loved seeing his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his children Kimberly (Frank) Grano, Woodbridge, ON, Tracey (Emilio) Grano, Etobicoke, ON, John, Toronto, ON, Michael, Toronto, ON; step son Corey Rushton, Moncton, NB; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; brothers Ronald (Brenda), Oxford, NS, Marven (Debbie), Springhill, NS, Paul, Dartmouth, NS; his first wife Ann Powell, Etobicoke, ON.

He was predeceased by his second wife Cheryl Rushton and grandson David.

Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167) where an Afternoon of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2 to 4 pm followed by a Graveside Service in the Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester, NS, at 5 pm.
